Training
I´ve done some good training run in the past few weeks and done 2 races, one marathon and one off road.
The marathon went down the drain, ran very fast with a group of people for the first 28 km and everything looked good when I got a sting at the back of the thigh and within a km I just walking. Managed to stretch well at the aid station at km 30 and get running again but had become very stiff and was very slow all the way to the finish line. Finish time 3:43, after being on track for 3:15 most of the race….but hey, I decided to participate the night before and that´s maybe not recommended
Last weekend I ran the 7 peak race in Reykjavik, got up at 03:00 in the morning and drove 400 km to Reykjavik. The race was 38 km long, over peaks up to 400m high and very rocky. The lowland consisted mostly of very rough land that was very difficult to run on. After 5 km I decided to take it a bit more easy than I had planned cause the ground was so difficult, decided to save the energy for the last km and it paid off. In the last 8 km I managed to gain places I had lost to finish 5th. Felt tired from the lack of sleep for most of the race and was quiet happy with my performance but I´m sure I can do a lot better.
